After serving Central Missouri through my architectural firm, Thompson / Architecture, over the past twelve years and after practicing architecture for over forty-two years, time has come to concentrate less on architecture and more on other endeavors, including art. I still paint with the Columbia Palette, a group of 8-10 painters, on Wednesday mornings in and around Columbia, Missouri, and we exhibit in Columbia and surrounding communities. I have taught a few watercolor workshops for the Columbia Art League and for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute in Columbia. I have also taught a few sketching classes for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. Columbia Palette and I have a continuing exhibit of our work at their Columbia offices. Recent solo exhibits in Columbia include Poppy, the Tiger Hotel (through July), and the Cherry Street Artisan (through May 25).

I am trying to determine if there is a demand for me to teach workshops occasionally. So, if you are interested in participating in a plein air workshop, please contact me. If and when I find there is adequate interest, I will arrange a location, time, date, and determine an appropriate fee for participating in the workshop. Also, if you are interested in attending a group presentation to view some of my recent art work, I will be happy to discuss arrangements with you via email or telephone.

Regarding workshops, I have been asked by a garden tour company to host a watercolor workshop in January, 2009, in Costa Rica. I have agreed to do that, and reservations are being received now. There will be a maximum of 15-20 participants. You may contact me if you are interested.
